Rebecca Johnson, Professor of Nursing and Veterinary Medicine, will be discussing Helpers for Life: Assistance Dog Heroes and the People They Help. Assistance dogs have been helping people in various ways for many decades. However recently there has been a huge expansion in their numbers around the world. This presentation will describe what these animals do to help people in daily life. It will help to clarify the confusion between Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals. Working Service Dogs and their handlers will attend to demonstrate their skills. Come see how these gentle heroes help people day by day.
